Estop Light Stays on
« on: December 30, 2015, 10:39:41 PM »
After powering up the new 126 the e-stop led will not go out.  The power led is lit, the RST led lights up and then goes out and the Outputs enabled led is lit but the e-stop will not go out.  There are 3.74 VDC with the e-stop jumper off and 0 volts with it on.  All dip switches are set to off.  Pin J1 is on Pin 1, J2 is on Pin 14, J3 is off, J4 is off, J5 is off J6 is normal.  The additional blue, black and brown wires in the picture will be for future home / limit switches.  These are only wired into a terminal block and not to any sensors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Greg

You have the DIP switches "open" (or "off" as you mentioned).  As per the PMDX-126 User's Manual table 1 on page 10, this puts the PMDX-126 into "test mode - alternate pinouts".  As long as the PMDX-126 is in test mode it will force the EStop output to be active regardless of the state of the EStop input.  This informs the CNC software (Mach3, Macn4, LinuxCNC, etc.) that the PMDX-126 is not ready for normal operation.

Set all DIP switches to the "closed" position and press the TEST button (or cycle power to the board).  [edit] This puts the PMDX-126 into "Normal mode". [end edit] This is the first step in getting the PMDX-126 running (see section 2.2 in the User's Manual).
