Will the PMDX-407 draw power from PMDX-422 or will a seperate power source be required? Also will the PMDX-407 plug directly into the 26 pin ribbon header on the pmdx-422 or will it connect to it through a cable?
Do you know what the dimensions of the PMDX-407 are going to be? Thanks. I can't wait for it to be released. I check the website everyday to see if it's for sale. Do you have any pictures of the unit that you would be willing to share?

The PMDX-407 will plug directly into the 26 pin ribbon header on the
PMDX-422 or PMDX-410 (when available) and will have a pass thru
26 pin ribbon header for use by external devices. The PMDX-407
fits within the outline of the PMDX-422 but increases the height
of the setup by about 3/4 of an inch.
The PMDX-407 draws its control circuitry power from the PMDX-422,
but it also requires an isolated supply, typically +10 volts DC, to
power the analog output buffer. This is normally available from
the VFD itself. If your VFD does not supply this voltage, you will
need an external DC supply to provide it.

Will a 12vdc power supply work or does it have to be 10vdc?

The power supply should match the input voltage range of the
VFD's speed control input. It is possible to use a 12 volt supply
for a VFD that expects a 0 to 10 volt signal, but you will need
to scale the command range or adjust the calibration potentiometer
so that full scale results in the expected operation.
Most VFD's will have the required voltage available. It is the same
output that connects to an external potentiometer when you use
that as a speed control.

I have the PMDX 407 and at this point I have tried several different combinations of wiring with no sucsess.
I am converting an early model SpectraLight, it presently has a potentiometer. The speed control is made by Minarc Electric.
I first tried taking the three wires from the pot and wired different combinations to J3 , I tried a separate power source. I also tried two wires on J2 and 1 wire on J3 out.
although using J2 started and stopped the spindle motor ,I still had no speed control.
