Post by: luke_barber70 on January 14, 2017, 07:02:25 PM
Has anyone here used a pmdx-107 with a Lenze i500 series VFD?

Was wiring & set up easy?

This one of the most complex VFDs that I have ever seen. The manual is
over 500 pages!  Here is a link to the manual that I found:

http://download.lenze.com/TD/i550%20Cabinet%200,25-45kW%20(Firmware%2002%2001%2001%2000)__v4-0__EN.pdf

The best information that I found was on page 381.

Based on that diagram, your connections would be:

PMDX-107          VFD

Agnd             X3-GND
Aout             X3-AI1
Aref              X3-10V

COM              X3-24V
Fwd/Run        X3-DI2
Rev/Dir          X3-DI3

jumper           X3-24V  to  X3-DI1

set parameters as per the chart below the wiring diagram on page 381

set the PMDX-107 as below:

Config1 - off
Config2 - off
Config3 - off (standard independent run FWD and run REV
Config4 - as desired, off for require Charge Pump, or on to ignore
Config5 - off (fast response mode, VFD will limit as needed)
Config6 - off (10 volt mode)

I do not know what the default settings of other parameters in
this VFD are, so if you are running a 24,000 RPM, 400 Hz spindle
you may need assistance from Lenze with setting the parameters.
