Hi
I thought I'd resolved this issue but unfortunately I haven't. I'm sure there are many possible causes for this issue, I was hoping you guy's might know the most likely place to look.
I loose comms between Mach4 & the 424 board while I'm cutting, and when I try & restart Mach4 it cannot connect unless I reboot the 424 board, I also have to start Windows Task Manager to close the Mach4 Core, and sometimes I have to reboot the computer as well!!. As you can imagine this is a major pain the #*&%
Any thoughts.
It happened 3 time in one small drilling op, then ran fine for a while.

I 'm hopeing this helps :)

Electrical noise is the usual suspect when communications is lost.
Could you try running an "air" cut without power on the spindle?
VFD driven high speed spindles are very noisy electrically and
the cable from the VFD to the spindle should be in a shielded
cable and the shield should be connected to the Earth or protective
ground at the VFD. It is also advisable that the host computer is
not powered from the same circuit as the VFD.
If this does not cure your problem, we will help you with further
investigation.

Thank you.
All of the main comms & power cables are shielded, Im not sure about the USD cables (2 joined about 8' total) they are just ones I had laying around, I was a bit over spending money at the time :)
I will give running the CNC with the PC on a separate circuit & them try the spindle if I have no success.
Thanks again.

Try to keep the USB cable away from the power cords and spindle cable.
If there is excess length in the USB cable, do not coil it, use a Z fold instead.
This is less likely to pick up noise from magnetic fields.
