PDMX 126 Rev A to Rev C upgrade
« on: February 20, 2022, 06:35:58 AM »
Good Day all

I have fitted the new rev 126 board into the machine and fired it up but am having a few issues.

The machine powers up along with pc but when I go to press reset on mach 3 nothing happens.

In fault finding I have chased all wiring into the board to confirm no issues and removed the estop circuit and put the loop supplied back in to make sure that the estop loop isn't at fault.

Dip switches are the same from the rev A to new Rev C.

The pin out in the old board which I have wired back up to is..

J7                            PCGND                 SS relay gnd
J7                            OE                          SS Relay +

J8                            AC                          Live
J8                            AC                          Neutral

J10                          Com                       Common to 107 board
J10                          N/O                       Relay
J10                          N/C Relay

J11                          E                              Limit Switches X Y Z

J12                          11                           Relay
                                Gnd                       -24v rail

                                12                           Z height homing switch
                                Gnd                       -24v rail

                                13                           4 Height homing switch
                                Gnd                       -24v rail

                                15                           Z Probe
                                Gnd                       Chassis Earth

J13                          Estop
                                Gnd

Estop light is red on 126 from power up and wont go off, even whilst I have shorted the estop to gnd with a wire to bypass to test.
Prior to this I missed to check a jumper on the Estop on the new board that was default, this would enable all drives etc before mach 3 would enable. Now changed that to the M hold and drives do not engage but nor will mach 3.

If anyone could help shed some light on this for me I  would be grateful.

Kingest Regards Tom

The proper way to prevent drivers from being enable before Mach3 is running is to utilize a "charge pump" signal.

You can configure the K2 relay to monitor the "charge pump" to control the enable signal to your driver. You should set JP2 to the MultiMode position and have Dip Switch config 8 to the open position. See Table 4 on page 8 of the manual.
