PMDX-107 and Varispeed 606PC3
« on: August 25, 2015, 12:07:33 PM »
I recently started to rebuild a cnc router with PDMX electronics and all is going quite well. The only problem I've run into was the wiring between the PMDX-107 and the Varispeed 606PC3 VFD. I've figured out the pins for the forward/reverse run/stop and COM pins but the VFD has 6 other wires that were tied into the old controller.

This is where I'm at, but not sure if this is correct or not;

Pin # PMDX-107               Pin# Varispeed 606PC3
6     Rev/Dir                        2      Reverse Run/Stop signal
5     Fwd/Dir                       1      Forward Run/Stop signal
4     COM                            6      Sequence control input common terminal
1     Agnd                           11    Common terminal for control circuit
2     Aout                            8      Frequency ref. 0 to +10V (20kohms)
3     Aref                             12    frequency meter, 0 to 10V/max. output frequency

Another issue is there is also fault signal outputs and I don't know where to wire them.

FLT-A
FLT-B
FLT-C

I'm not sure of where to connect these wires or if they even need to be connected. I've attached the control circuit terminals page from the VFD manual  for reference.
Any help I can get with this would be greatly appreciated.

Only one problem as best I can see.

The Aref of the PMDX-107 should connect to terminal 10, "Power supply terminal for
frequency setting" on the VFD.

The fault output terminals can be ignored, or if desired you can configure them in
the VFD and connect to the /Fault input on the PMDX-126. The PMDX-126 fault
input triggers an E-Stop and based on my quick reading of the VFD manual, none of
the options in the VFD seem like candidates to request an E-Stop.

Wow! Thanks for the quick response. I'll be back in the shop on Thursday and test it out.
