Hidey ho,
Does anybody here have experience upgrading the controller and software for a Prolight 2500 desktop mill?
It currently has the original DOS controller which I program by hand - I'd love to bring it into the 21st century.
Which breakout boards and servo drivers might work?
How do I interface to the high speed spindle driver (42,000 RPM)?
I found one YouTube video describing a 2500 upgrade using a PDMX 126 breakout board, Gecko G320X servo drivers, and Mach 3 software. No other details than which board, driver, and software that he used.
I know very little about these topics and will likely have many more questions as I try to put this together.
Many thanks,
Scott Ecelberger
