Mach4 Cant find PMDX smart-bob
« on: August 24, 2024, 02:47:54 PM »
I am getting a port scan did not find a valid PMDX Smart-bob USB Device after a reboot. The controller is a PMDX-424

I did NOT see the STS Micro driver in device manager and I did follow the instructions to uninstall and reinstall.
I now see the STS Micro driver installed and no yellow or red errors. I started up Mach4
and it still cannot find the PMDX smart bob. Second message ERROR I get "Could not connect to the smart-bob usb device.
Please plug in or check the usb cable and re-start Mach4."

I replaced the usb cable and noted the OS sound that it sees the usb device and device manager does posts shows the STS Micro populated.

Diagnostics screen shows the following:

Build: 4162
Screen Set: wx4.set
PMDX USB Device: Unknown PNDX device [UNKNOWN PCB] on N
PMDX SN: Unavailable no device found
PMDX ver: 0.53.263
PMDX Bootloader ver: Unavailable
PMDX firmware ver: Unavailable

PC OS is Windows 10 64bit

Mach4 ver: 4.2.0.4162

I ran the package current profile. If you need anything else please let me know.

Any help world be appreciated.

Thank you

Strange it is working now. It maybe an issue with the pc and not the controller.

Thanks
